Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

 

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley

 

·        currently serves 6,261 members, ages 5 to 17 years, throughout the Tennessee Valley area, including Knox, Blount, Loudon, Fentress, and North Anderson Counties.

 

·        requires an operating budget of $6.8 million

 

·         

  • provides over 501,635 USDA hot meals and snacks annually

 

o       For many youth, this is the only nutritious meal received outside of school

  • operates 17 Club facilities strategically placed throughout the Tennessee Valley area

 

o       Four located within public housing developments

o       Three located within school facilities

o       Eight free-standing Club facilities

o      Two Teen Centers

o       Richard L. Bean Detention Center (one of three of its kind in the nation)

 

  • employs over 230 trained, professional, caring staff and welcomes over 1,200 volunteers annually

 

  • transports members from 60 schools in Knox County, Blount County and Loudon County

 

  • provides programs for Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation
